The agent of Krzysztof Piatek’s has confirmed that they are in talks about a possible move away from Genoa, as Chelsea look to seal a deal this coming January.
Despite the lads starting the new season in brilliant fashion and bringing some much needed excitement to the style of play, it is widely believed that we are one striker away from challenging Manchester City for the Premier League title this season, with Eden Hazard the only forward chipping in with goals.
Spanish star Alvaro Morata looks nothing like the player he was at Juventus and has only netted three times this season, while Olivier Giroud has failed to find the net at all but has done a very good job at leading the line for Mr Sarri.
And one player that we are extremely interested in is 23-year old Piatek, who has taken Serie A football by storm this season and already has seventeen goals in all competitions for Genoa and Poland.
Reports recently suggested Genoa have ‘reluctantly’ admitted that Piatek could leave in the coming transfer windows, as interest continues to grow around Europe, and the Italians are prepared to let him leave if the £35 million valuation is met.
Now the strikers representative, Tomasz Magdziarz has now admitted that they are in contract talks with a few clubs, but was unwilling to give anymore information.
Asked about the recent speculation, he told Goal: ‘I think because he is a very modest person. He has had a big impact in Serie A but he stays himself to everyone. We are in contact with a few clubs but we never give any information about it to the press.’
Would Piatek be a good buy from the club? Here are our thoughts.
There is so much speculation and so many rumours that it is very hard to chose on what to believe, but the young man is showing great goal-scoring potential at just a little side like Genoa, so imagine what he could achieve at a massive club like Chelsea.
There is no doubt that he will develop into a world class striker, so for just £35 million, I would love to see Sarri get this deal done and bring him to London instead of Morata or Giroud.
