Chelsea news: Italian announces midfielder has agreed personal terms
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is close to joining CHELSEA’s summer exodus with a move to AC Milan close to happening.
The midfielder’s exit from Stamford Bridge was certainly expected in this window as the club overhaul their squad in preparation for Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival.
AC Milan took an immediate interest in Loftus-Cheek – who bid an emotional farewell to fans on the last day of the season – and have been working hard to get a deal over the line,
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri are now close to wrapping up a deal worth €16m plus €4m in add-ons, with Loftus-Cheek having already agreed personal terms.
It has been a shame to see that Loftus-Cheek has never really been able to fulfill that potential at Stamford Bridge – he really could have been a world class midfielder.
But the chance to move to Seria A and join AC Milan is a massive opportunity and one that he will relish – he has seen a number for former team-mates make the move abroad and reignite their careers.
He has been a very good player for the Blues over the seasons – but now is the right time to leave and seek a fresh challenge – experience a different culture of football – Milan will be a veery good move.
We will miss the guy – but at the end of the day – sitting on the bench is not something that we encourage and will wish him all the best if he does actually depart the club in the next few weeks.
