Tuchel told he now has the ‘perfect replacement’ for Lukaku NOW at Chelsea
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been told that he already has the ideal replacement for the departed Romalu Lukaku – and his name is Armando Broja
After a very frustrating season back in the Premier League – the club made the big decision to allow Lukaku to leave the club and head back to Italian football with Inter Milan
He agreed a loan move a few days ago – and it now means that we will need to delve into that transfer kitty this summer and try to add a striker to that attack that will be able to score the goals that Lukaku could not
However – despite some big names being linked with the club Former defender Johnson believes Armando Broja can perform the Lukaku role next season.
The 20-year-old impressed on loan at Southampton last season and had been interesting West Ham, but Johnson believes he is best served by remaining at Chelsea.
He said: ‘I think Chelsea are going to be reluctant to spend scary money again considering what happened with the Romelu Lukaku signing.
‘If it was up to me, then I’d give Armando Broja a chance rather than spending £80 million on a replacement. I’d rather get it wrong with a player that I’ve already got, rather than get it wrong by spending £80 million.
‘Broja is technically good in front of goal but I don’t know how good he is yet. He did score some fantastic goals for Southampton but, let’s face it, Southampton aren’t Chelsea.
‘He’s going to get more goal scoring opportunities at Chelsea and he’s technically good enough to score more next season.’
There is no doubt that Broja has the potential to be a top striker and if Tuchel feels like he is ready to lead that attack – then it could be a risk as he is far from the finished article
