Brazilian International tipped for massive move after JUST joining Chelsea
Former Watford star turned pundit Troy But Deeney is confident that it won’t be long before CHELSEA signing Joao Pedro starts proving his talents for both club and country, and believes Barcelona and Real Madrid could well be the next destination for the 23-year-old.
The Blues have swooped to add another option to their front line with the Brazil international signing a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge. Newcastle United were also eager to sign the 23-year-old with Pedro preferring a move to London.
Jamie Gittens has just signed, Liam Delap arrived at the start of the transfer window from Ipswich Town along with Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg. Dario Essugo has also arrived from Sporting CP after a deal was struck in March with Brazilian sensation Estevao Willian will join up with his new teammates after the Club World Cup.
Chelsea have agreed a deal worth £55m with £5m in add-ons with Brighton with Pedro departing after two seasons at the AMEX, and after his move, Deeney is confident that it won’t be long before Joao Pedro starts proving his talents for both club and country, and believes Barcelona and Real Madrid could make a move in the future.
He told Talksport: ‘If Chelsea start competing both in the Champions League and in the Premier League, he will be part of that vehicle,’ Deeney added when asked if Pedro’s national team ambitions were realistic.
‘When you look at the Brazilian national team, it’s not as strong as some of the teams we’ve seen over the years so he will look at that and say ‘Yes I can do that (get in the team)’.
‘I think if he does well for two years there, Real Madrid and Barcelona will come knocking and CHELSEA have a model of buying young and selling on for more than what they paid for.’
