Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews that we think you may have missed…

Paul Merson believes newly-promoted Leeds United would be a good fit for departing CHELSEA winger Raheem Sterling, telling Sky Sports in April: ‘They’re a young team, they like to play attacking football.

The Blues also need to get a number of players off the books over the next few months, and Sterling is a player that we are reportedly very interested in letting go, according to The Sun

They report that Chelsea are open to selling the 82-cap England international for £20m, less than half what they paid Manchester City for him three years ago. But progress on an exit has been slow, with no talks held between the club and the player, with his whopping £325,000-a-week wages set to be a problem.

But amid all the speculation and rumours about where Sterling could be playing next season, Merson believes newly-promoted Leeds United would be a good fit for departing winger – he said: ‘He’s very good in the dressing room and a good team player. He’s got all the experience in the world, he’s won Premier Leagues.

‘For me, that wouldn’t be a bad move for Leeds or for Sterling. He’d be going to a massive, huge club and the expectations are not as high.

‘If they finish 17th in the Premier League next year they’ve pulled up trees. That would be one that would tick the box for me.’

IcChelseanews Says…

Sterling needs to take a pay-cut if he wants to keep playing in the Premier League or even at the highest level of the game, that £325k-a-week is alot of money to pay and he has not been worth the money since his move from Man City.

He will not be missed, it is that simple

ISAK MESSAGE SENT

Eddie Howe says he is “confident” that long -term CHELSEA target Alexander Isak will still be a Newcastle player at the end of the transfer window but says he sent the striker home ahead of the friendly loss to Celtic because of the focus on the Swede’s future.

The club have been very busy this transfer window, they have spent over £200 million on bringing in new players to improve many areas of the squad and now look like a side that can challenge for that Premier League title next season.

Joao Pedro and Liam Delap have both arrived this transfer window, but with the reports that Nicolas Jackson could be leaving the club this transfer window, there may be a chance for another striker to be signed and Isak is a player that we really admire.

Newcastle made it clear Isak was not for sale this week when Liverpool stepped up their interest in the striker. The Magpies value Isak, who scored 23 Premier League goals last season, at £150m at least.

Arsenal have been another club eyeing Isak this summer but they are now closing in on a deal for Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, and now Howe has opened up and told all the chasing clubs that he expects Isak to stay this transfer window.

“It was my decision,” said Howe about sending Isak home. The striker wasn’t set to play in the game – which turned out to be a 4-0 thrashing by Celtic – because Newcastle are managing his minutes at this early stage of pre-season.

“He travelled to Glasgow with us but I decided to send him home due to the speculation around him.

“The last thing he wanted is to be sat in the stand watching, that wasn’t fair to him. But I’m confident he will be a Newcastle player come the end of the window.”

RODRYGO GREEN LIGHT

Real Madrid will be open to letting long-term CHELSEA transfer target Rodrygo leave this summer, if they receive the right offer.

Rodrygo scored 13 goals and provided over 10 assists in over 50 appearances last season, but Tension has been building between the Brazilian and Real with the winger unhappy with his role in the team with his relationship with his teammates deteriorating significantly.

The former Santos starlet, who joined Real for €45million in 2018, is ‘angry’ with his diminished role and it has been claimed that he would be open to leaving the Spaniards over the next few months, with reports suggesting that he believes he has played his last game for Real.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano Madrid could be willing to part ways with the Brazilian forward if a substantial offer arrives. The ultimate decision, however, will rest with both Rodrygo and new head coach Xabi Alonso.

However, It was claimed Real will be demanding a fee of €100million (£87m) for the player, and he will also look for wages around the £300k-a-week mark.

Whether he departs may be down to a decision made by the player himself, with Arsenal and Liverpool also among those linked.

IcChelsea news says…

CHELSEA do not really need to splash the cash and add another winger to that attack, they already have a number of players that can do the job that Rodrygo does and we are sure that a move to the London clubs will not happen.

He is world class but we dont need him
