Somto Boniface shared a post on Instagram on deadline day and revealed to CHELSEA fans that the time has come for him to move on, as he made the move to Ipswich Town.

Boniface has been at Cobham since the age of nine and was part of the U18s side that won the Premier League South section last term, but the decision was made on deadline day that he would leave Stamford Bridge.

News broke that the club and Ipswich both agreed a deal for Boniface and although the move to Ipswich is one that he wants, It is understood that Boniface is being viewed as a development signing and will initially join the club’s U23s, rather than Kieran McKenna’s first team.

And just before he made the move away from Stamford Bridge, he posted: ‘Dear Chelsea, the time has come for me to move on, but the memories I have from joining this club at 9 years old will never be forgotten.

‘It has been an unbelievable journey, and I want to thank everyone for the love, investment and support over the past 10 years.’

He will probably get more of a chance to shine in that Ipswich Town side over the next few seasons, and to be honest, it is one that many of the academy players will have to make in order to make a name for themselves in the game.

It is a shame that he had to leave, but at the end of the day, we wish him the best of luck
