Boehly told to complete Chelsea signing for striker

CHELSEA owner Todd Boehly has been told why a new striker must be next on his transfer shopping.

The club have really splashed some serious cash in the last two transfer windows – but despite all that money that has been spent – they have not managed to sign a world class striker that can score the goals that they need.

Kai Havertz has scored only five league goals all season, with his last coming in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace back in January. The German has played in all but one league outing this season but has faced criticism for his contribution in recent weeks.

There has been alot of speculation that the club  will try and sign a new striker at the end of the season – and now Former Tottenham defender Matt Dawson has encouraged the club to make sure they sign a new forward.

He said on Sky Sports: “Kai Havertz, he’s just not a number nine.

“He doesn’t want to stay between the sticks. He just roams about and he didn’t cause them any problems today.”

Dawson’s comments were seconded by Gabby Agbonlahor. “Chelsea were there for the taking really,” he told talkSPORT. “They weren’t great. They were better than they have been recently but still…

“I think Havertz, that one-on-one he had in the first half… it was like watching me out there!

“It wasn’t convincing but I guess Chelsea will have to take that and at least it takes the pressure off Graham Potter a little bit.”
