Chelsea urged to sign Oblak, Werner threat known, Havertz determined to make move, Boateng opens door to deal in icchelseanews roundup….
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is being urged to address the stopper issue by launching a raid on Atletico Madrid for Jan Oblak.
There has been alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that Frank Lampard is keen to sign a new stopper in the summer transfer window as he has not been impressed by the performances of Kepa, who has struggled between the sticks.
And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that we are ready to make a move and try to bring in Oblak to Stamford Bridge in a move that could cost the club a massive £100 million.
Oblak, who saw his four-season stranglehold on the Zamora Trophy – awarded to the best goalkeeper in La Liga – ended by Thibaut Courtois, has proven himself as one of the best in the world over six years at Atleti.
Sinclair feels Oblak should be made the top target at Stamford Bridge, with a man widely regarded as the finest keeper on the planet considered to be capable of sparking a title challenge at Stamford Bridge.
“It’s not a secret that Frank lost this trust in Kepa,” former Blues defender Sinclair told Gentingbet. “In previous games he’s made some vital mistakes.
“However, you have to remember that he’s a really young goalkeeper, the £71m price tag shadows the fact that he’s a young goalkeeper, fairly inexperienced in playing senior football and the standards are set very high for him.
“At the same time, if you get the opportunity to bring in Jan Oblak then I think if you want to compete with Liverpool and Manchester City, Chelsea need a goalkeeper of the same standard and certainly Jan Oblak would produce that.”
Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is determined to join Chelsea this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The midfielder has gone on to make 148 appearances for the club, scoring 45 goals in all competitions with 37 of those goals coming over the last two seasons, stats that mean Chelsea have made him the clubs number one target.
Frank Lampard is seemingly losing Willian this summer after a deal could not be agreed and Havertz is seen as the idea replacement, although we cannot agree on a fee, which is holding up the possible arrival of the German.
But Romano has claimed that Havertz is determined to make that move to Stamford Bridge, Speaking on the Beautiful Game Podcast, he said: “It’s so similar to the [Jadon] Sancho situation, because the player has a total agreement with the club. The player wants to leave and in the case of Havertz, the player is determined to leave the club this summer.
“He wants another option because Bayer Leverkusen is different to Borussia Dortmund, so you can understand why a player like Kai Havertz wants to join a Premier League club.
“Chelsea are speaking with Bayer Leverkusen to find an agreement, at the moment there is no agreement but the price they’re going to offer Bayer Leverkusen is around €80million.
“At the moment there is no agreement but also like the Sancho deal for the instalments and add-ons, they’re speaking. Bayer Leverkusen are also playing in Europe so they need time to finalise this agreement but I think it’s possible that the deal will be complete on next weeks because the player really wants to join Chelsea, he’s pushing to join Chelsea.
“He’s the main target for Chelsea this summer after Timo Werner.”

It is no secret that Frank Lampard is keen to splash the cash a little more to improve key areas of the pitch and adding a new left-back to the side is high up on his list of things to do this summer.
And reports have claimed we have held advanced talks with Real Madrid for the services of Reguilon, who has been impressing in La Liga with Spanish giants Sevilla over the past 12 months.
The Real Madrid left-back, who’s spent the season on loan at Sevilla, told Marca: “I do not think about these possibilities now — I’m sorry if that sounds like a cliche. I’ve been saying since quarantine that until the season is over I won’t be talking about my future.
“Until then it would be unfair on myself, my teammates and club.
“If my year at Sevilla had not been good, then this would not be happening. These teams would not ring.
“If I am fine, the team is fine and the club is fine, everyone is happy… I have no complaints about anything, about the city, the club, my colleagues. I feel very loved. Who knows what will happen in the future?
“We should talk about that sitting quietly with Real Madrid, my representative, with everyone. And see the possibilities for next year, let’s see what happens. I don’t know.”
Ilkay Gundogan has admitted to being wary of Chelsea’s threat next season, insisting “everyone at Manchester City knows about Timo Werner”.
After months of transfer speculation regarding the young man, who was heavily tipped to sign with Premier League Champions Liverpool, it was us that activated that clause and got a deal done.
Frank Lampard knew that he needed to add some more goals to this attack and after seeing Werner net an impressive 34 goals in just 45 games last season, we made sure to get the deal done quickly.
Fans will hope that Werner can have a similar impact at Stamford Bridge in 2020-21, as Frank Lampard’s side look to close the gap on Liverpool and City at the top of the Premier League.
Gundogan plays alongside the German forward at international level, and he is expecting him to make a big impact in English football next season: “Believe me: Everyone at City knows about Timo Werner. Many of my team-mates asked what kind of guy he is. He deserves respect,” the City midfielder told SportBild.
Werner is already hard at work trying to make sure that he is all fully prepared for the Premier League, especially as the media will be on his back from day one.
He has proved it in the Bundesliga, he has proved it in the Champions League and he has even proved it at International level, the German striker is a goal-machine that could solve the answer to our problems.
