World Cup winner and Bayern Munich star opens door to possible Chelsea move with Premier League announcement
Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng has hinted at a potential move to the Premier League, with Chelsea a club that has been linked.
With Frank Lampard ready top spend big over the next ten weeks of transfer season, it is widely believed that the club legend will try to delve into that transfer kitty and land a new solid defender.
And Boateng, who spent one season at Manchester City before joining Bayern in 2011, was has been linked with a move to the Premier League since the January window, when news broke that he is open to the idea of leaving Bayern.
Now he has hinted that he is now open to the idea of a move to the Premier League.
The German defender said on BILD: “I wouldn’t say no. I love watching the Premier League and I loved playing in it while I was there.
“For me, it was really unlucky because I was injured straightaway and then I didn’t play in the position they promised.
“I’m definitely down for it, it’s one of my favourite leagues, but I don’t know for the future. You never know… it’s not that I would never play there again, absolutely not.”
Frank Lampard should have alot of money to sign top-class players in the summer, so even though Boateng is a world class defender, he is not the player that we need to help improve this back-line.
Hopefully a move by the club will not be made, as he is not the same player that he was just a few seasons ago, he a player that is looking for one last big pay day, and the Premier League would offer that.
