Upamecano hint, Benrahma congratulated, Jorginho responds, Chelsea get Stones boost in icchelseanews roundup..

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has played down speculation he is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Despite being an invaluable member of the side before the coronavirus stopped football from being played, There has been big transfer speculation in the media that Jorginho could leave the club when the transfer window opens up.

He has barely featured for Chelsea since the re-start of football and was only a substitute in the 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace during the midweek game, which led< Gary Neville to claim that Frank Lampard has already decided to sell the midfielder.

But Asked about the speculation, Jorginho has tried to play down all the rumours that he could be leaving the club in the transfer window and has claimed that he is only focusing on finishing the season with the Blues.

He told Chelsea’s official website: ‘I just have to stay focused on when the teams need me.

‘There have been rumours but I haven’t heard anything. ‘I am just focusing on finishing the season well with Chelsea and qualifying for the Champions League.’

He continued: ‘Overall it was a good performance. ‘We created opportunities, and we just need to be more effective when we have chances up front. We like to suffer.

‘We need to learn to finish the game before the last minute, to be more clinical to avoid that tension at the end, but we are creating opportunities which is a positive.’

rentford winger Said Benrahma is already being congratulated on a summer move to Chelsea by one of his close friends.

Now the transfer window is just a few weeks away, but there has still be alot of transfer speculation in the media suggesting that we are lining up a number of possible targets.

Frank Lampard has already added a new midfielder an attacker to the squad, but there is a feeling that another winger and defender would be the ideal signings for the club, and the impressive Benrahma has been on the shopping list of the boss.

Benrahma is a tricky wideman who has even been dubbed the ‘Algerian Messi’, and would be the immediate replacement for Willian or Pedro, who are both expected to depart the club when their current deals run out in the coming weeks.

And rumours about Benrahma’s switch to Stamford Bridge have now been fuelled by his friend, Fahd Moufi, who appeared to drop a major hint on Instagram.

During Benrahma’s Instagram live video, Moufi wrote: ‘Congratulations on Chelsea, my bro.’

Pep Guardiola has cast doubt over defender John Stones’ future at Manchester City, opening the door for Chelsea to reignite their interest?

Guardiola has one of the best squads in the game right now and is tipped to add another centre-back to his squad this summer, with reports that he is keen to acquire the services of Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.

And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that he will need to offload a defender this transfer window to make room for a possible signing, with Stones one player tipped to leave the club.

The England International cost City £50 million when he joined from Everton over Four years ago, but last season he found himself on the bench more often than not as Guardiola has seemingly lost faith in his ability.

We have been long-term admirers of the Englishman, and with Frank Lampard seeking to add a proven Premier League defender to his side, there is now an opportunity for the club to swoop in and tempt Stones to London.

“I’ve said many times, and continue saying, I’m more than delighted with John Stones as a person, as a professional, everything,” Guardiola said at his press conference on Tuesday.

“What I want is the best for him and at the end of the season we are going to speak about what is going to happen, because sometimes my wish is not the wish of the players, or the wish for the situation of the club.

“I am honest with them and the moment I will feel – not with John but any player – if we have to change we are going to tell them.”

RB LEIPZIG have hinted that defender and Chelsea target Dayot Upamecano could follow Timo Werner out the door to the Premier League.

Now Look, There has been so much speculation and rumours in the media over the past few weeks about whom Frank Lampard will sign in the summer, to help improve that back-line, to improve that midfield area, and a possible add a striker to the attack.

But there has also been constant rumours that we are interested, maybe even desperate, to sign up the impressive Upamecano, who is easily regarded as one of the finest young centre-backs in the game having helped RB become a very exciting, and entertaining to watch.

If Upamecano does not agree terms on a new deal then his Bundesliga employers may be forced to cash in this summer or risk losing him on a free when his contract expires, and even though Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff is confident the centre-back will still be playing at the Red Bull Arena next season, he has hinted that he could follow Timo Werner to the Premier League

He told Kicker: “I assume that he will also play for us next season.

“We are in good talks to find a solution to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer next year.

“It worked out with Timo Werner, and I assume that we will do our homework with regard to Dayot as well.”

The West Londoners are said to have a good relationship with Leipzig – as a result of Timo Werner’s £53m transfer they recently agreed – and could use that to nab Upamecano.
