Leon Bailey has put Chelsea on red alert by joining Will Salthouse’s Unique Sports Management Agency.
Now we all know that boss Frank Lampard was given significant funds in the summer transfer window to spend on players that he believed would give him the best chance of challenging for that Premier League title by the end of the season.
Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner were all signed by the club, meaning that the clubs interest in Bailey had slipped away and they had given up on trying to sign the gifted young man, believing that they have enough quality on the wings right now.
However, transfer speculation about a possible deal has never gone away, and that has led to alot of speculation over the months that we are interested in trying to acquire the services of Bailey, who is easily regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the Bundesliga right now.
And now he has reportedly put the club on hot alert after Will Salthouse’s Unique Sports Management Agency
The report claims that Jamaican international Bailey is valued around £40million and will be represented by his dad Craig Butler’s Phoenix Sports Management and Salthouse’s USM, according to the Mail.
Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Strasbourg over a January move for Mohamed Simakan
Frank Lampard made the decision over the summer to bring Thiago Silva to the club after hearing that he would become a free agent after deciding that now was the best time to leave PSG.
There were many people in the media whom believed that the ageing Brazilian would not have it anymore, that he would not be able to compete at the very highest level, but he has proven everybody wrong and is one of the best in the League right now.
However, he will not be at the club forever, meaning that Lampard will need to delve into that transfer kitty and try to sign a long-term replacement for the defender, with Simakan a man that has arrived on the shopping list.
According to Le 10 Sport, we have ‘positioned themselves’ to sign Strasbourg’s Simakan, 20, who has established himself as one of the finest young centre-backs in Ligue 1 over the last two seasons.
It comes after the head coach Lampard recently admitted he was ‘a bit tentative’ about signing Silva but has been blown away by the Brazil international’s outstanding start at Stamford Bridge.
Asked whether Silva had performed even better than he expected, Lampard told Sky Sports: ‘I think so. I remember playing in the Premier League at 36 and I couldn’t play like he’s playing, week in week out. I was in and out of the team and I could feel it at that stage of my career.
‘So what I’ll say is I probably was a bit tentative. I knew he was a top player, had been a great player for a long time, but the pressures of the Premier League when you’ve never played there, he’d played in France for a long time – no disrespect.
“But yeah he probably has exceeded it slightly and really I shouldn’t have been surprised.
[the_ad id=”164”]Frank Lampard has tipped Callum Hudson-Odoi to add the “end product” that will catapult him into the category of a top Premier League winger.
Hudson-Odoi has been at the club for a while now after breaking onto the scene just a few seasons ago, and he has become one of the most exciting young players in the game right now.
There has been some criticism about his end-product, but that has not stopped all the speculation in the media which have suggested that Bayern Munich are still keen, especially as the young man has not been much of a regular starter at the club again this season.
But despite all the speculation, The boss remains convinced Hudson-Odoi will rise to all the challenges ahead of him, now calling on the young talent to boost his goal return.
“The obvious next part is end product,” said Lampard on the Metro “We we want to see Callum, as I think he did against Arsenal, to go one-versus-one, to be confident to go one-versus-one, because he has the ability to do it.
“And to get crosses in like he did for Tammy (Abraham) at Arsenal, and to get goals, to arrive in the box. Because that’s the level of top wingers in the Premier League when you look around at the numbers that the top wingers produce in the Premier League in recent years.
“Callum definitely has the capabilities and that will be the next stage for him.”
Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has praised Frank Lampard for his decision to sign Thiago Silva for Chelsea.
It was no secret in the media that we needed to spend some money in the summer transfer window and add players to the squad that would add some excitement, goals and experience to the squad.
They signed Edouard Mendy, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech to name just a few, but their most important signing may have been the quality Silva, who has come in to add that leadership to the squad that Frank Lampard has been missing.
And Khedira has praised Lampard for recognising that he needed an experienced player to complement the signings of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, in an interview with The Athletic, Khedira suggested that a balanced squad was just as important as a manager’s formation and approach to a game.
Asked if he believes tactics are overrated, Khedira replied: ‘Yes, in as much as that strong tactics are a given at these type of clubs anyway
‘The difference is made by coaches who get full buy-in by their players and who have a sense of what’s needed beyond formations etc on the pitch. ‘Take Frank Lampard. In Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, he’s brought in two outstanding footballers but the key signing is Thiago Silva at the age of 36.
‘Lampard knows that it’s not enough to have players who run fast and shoot hard.
‘You also need guys with experience that help others perform by force of their presence and personality. ‘A good manager sees the bigger picture and understands what pieces are missing to complete the puzzle.’
Great signing by the club
