Barella update, Hazard stunner and contact made for £100m Bailey in Chelsea daily roundup

Here is the daily roundup of Chelsea news and gossip from IcChelseanews.

Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur has claimed Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is “waiting” for Real Madrid to make a move to sign him.

Despite the fact we are ready to hand him a massive contract to sign, the 28-year-old has refused to commit his future to the Premier League club, despite having just over a year left on his current deal.

And that has led to a lot of speculation which has suggested Madrid may consider this summer the perfect moment to reignite their interest in the Belgium captain, after missing out on a £150 million move last summer.

And according to Terreur, Hazard is waiting for Madrid to make an offer, telling the Transfer talk podcast: “He has rejected two contract offers so far and says that he doesn’t want to sign right now. That means he is waiting for something and that something means just one thing, Real Madrid.

“Real Madrid are still interested as far as I know, but they are still yet to make their move. They don’t have a personal agreement with him at this point, they don’t have an agreement with Chelsea and they haven’t even made the phone call like they did last summer.”

“When they called last summer, Marina Granovskaia said that he wasn’t for sale and Real respected that.

“But they might come back in again as they need to strengthen their squad after this season and it is easier to get players with just over a year left on a contract.”

Cagliari sporting director Mario Passetti has announced Chelsea transfer target Nicolo Barella will not be leaving the Serie A club this January.

With Maurizio Sarri desperate to add another midfielder to the squad after the departure of Cesc Fabregas, there has been alot of speculation in the media which have claimed we are closing in on a £45 million deal for Barella.

But despite all the positive speculation that we are closing in ona deal, Passatti has revealed that Barella will not be leaving the club this month.

“Barella? There has been a lot of talk concerning Nicolo but we have always been saying the same thing every time, he won’t be leaving us at this moment in time,” he told Sport.

“Summer sale? Well let’s see what happens in the summer but as of now, Nicolo will be staying with us here at Cagliari.

“Nicolo seems happy here and he always trains hard and plays hard for us which is important.

“Our goal isn’t to sell him since we have important objectives.

“Let’s wait and see what happens in the future and we will then take a decision.”

The agent of Leon Bailey has claimed Chelsea have been in contact about a possible transfer move.

The 21-year-old is one of the most promising young forwards in Europe and was wanted by several top clubs in the summer after having another impressive campaign for the Germans.

We know that star man Eden Hazard is keen to leave for Real Madrid and are preparing for life after the Belgian, having already sealed a deal to bring Christian Pulisic to the Premier League at the end of the season.

And Craig Butler, Bailey’s agent and stepfather, has claimed we have asked about the player’s situation at Leverkusen.

‘I am very happy that this change has come about. Leon did not develop under Heiko Herrlich,’ he told SportBild.

‘For Leon it is very important that he enjoys football, he lives alone in Germany, the family is in Jamaica, and if Leon does not have fun, it kills him.

‘Top clubs have come forward, Real and Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Roma, and in recent months they have been surprised that Leon plays so seldom, wondering why a top league player like him is suddenly sitting on the bench.’
