Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has praised Chelsea’s decision to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

Over the past few days the headlines have been dominated by the reports suggesting that we have agreed a deal with RB to bring Timo Werner to the premier League over the summer transfer window.

It has been claimed that the deal for the German star could be announced in the coming days, and we are just waiting for the football re-start to happen, as flight restrictions will loosen.

And the Arsenal goalkeeper begrudgingly admits that our attack will be stronger with Werner in the squad.

‘I get on very well with Timo. He is very welcome in London,’ Leno told Sky Sports Germany.

‘I would be happy for him, Chelsea is a great choice, no question about it.

‘The Premier League is faster, more physical. But I think he’s good for it. Timo is an extremely fast player. ‘With his qualities and killer instinct, I’m afraid I have to say, he could be strengthening Chelsea.’

Look, there has been too many reports and too many big media outlets, former players and coaches all congratulating the club for signing Werner for it not to be true, so it will be interesting to see if he will actually sign with us or will not.

But when he does sign up, most Premier League defenders should be worried, as Werner has already proven that he is more than capable of playing against the very best defenders, at the very highest level.

We are just waiting for that announcement, like many of you guys.
