Big Chelsea news: Rivals ‘prepared’ to sell unhappy £50M star
Arsenal are prepared to sell keeper and CHELSEA target Aaron Ramsdale next summer according to Football Insider.
Mikel Arteta made the big decision over the summer transfer window to make a move and sign the impressive David Raya on loan until the end of the season, despite the fact that Ramsdale has been brilliant since his move to the Emirates.
Ramsdale featured in the opening four games of the season for Arteta and co. But David Ryaa has started to establish himself in that Arsenal side and there is a feeling that Arteta believes the Spaniard is the way forward.
That has led to some stunning reports in the media which have claimed that we are very much interested in a deal to sign Ramsdale in the January window if he pushes for a move away from the Emirates.
Now, reports on the Sun have claimed that Arsenal are prepared to let Ramsdale leave the club, but will only allow him to leave at the end of the season rather than in the winter window.
It’s understood that the keeper is unhappy with his situation of playing second fiddle.
Arsenal icon Thierry Henry recently told Ramsdale that he should wither fight for his place in that Arsenal side or look for a way out of the Emirates.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
“You are at a big club. Competition will happen,” Henry explained on the Rest Is Football Podcast. “I am not the coach of Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta went to get a guy that he thinks will win him the title.
“[Aaron] Ramsdale was seen as the guy to get us in the top four again and Bernd Leno went to Fulham. That is the story of football. I can understand with the new generation but there is something that will never change at a big club, you have got to compete. If you don’t compete, someone is going to come.
“If you take Phil Foden, he is a very good player but Manchester City keep buying players. You are at a big club and that’s how it is, and if you are not happy at the big club, then you have got to go.”
