World class defender optimistic about Chelsea amid Chelsea rumours

BARCELONA star Ronald Araujo has dealt a blow to Chelsea’s transfer hopes by saying he wants to STAY at the Spanish giants during the summer window
Araujo is a man that has been in the headlines alot over the past few months as there has been alot of speculation that he could be leaving Barcelona at the end of the current season
He is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and it has been believed that if Barcelona cannot agree a new contract with the defender – then they would like to see him leave for a fee in the summer rather than nothing next year
That has led to alot of reports in the media which have suggested that Thomas Tuchel would like to take him to Stamford Bridge – as he will need to sign an immediate replacement for the departing Antonio Rudiger
However, speaking after the game against Sevilla at the weekend, the 23-year-old Uruguayan poured cold water on any move to to England and has told the Spanish media that he wants to stay with the giants
He told reporters: “I am very happy to be here and happy with the support of the club.
And on discussions over a new deal, he added: “We are working. This week we have a meeting.
“I hope it will be resolved soon so that I can continue many years at this club. I am optimistic.”

Most fans are not worried about the type of players that will be signed in the transfer window as the club always buy big. Right now they are more concerned about who will be buying the club
But Araujo is a top-class player – real special – and if the Blues did want an immediate replacement for Rudiger – Then Araujo would have been the player they wanted
