Chelsea board plot statement signing of world class defender!

CHELSEA are looking to make a statement signing with the possible capture of Barcelona star Ronaldo Araujo

Araujo has been a player that has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the last few seasons and he could once again be on the transfer market if Barcelona make a decision on his future.

While the centre-back has been linked with a move away – the 25-year-old has repeatedly stressed his desire to stay at the Catalan outfit.

But as per Mundo Deportivo, we  are keeping a keen eye on the Uruguayan defender for a potential summer move as they believe he could take over as the leader in defence following Thiago Silva’s departure from Stamford Bridge this summer.

The board have been spending money on adding players to the side that are for the future – but the club also know that they need to add another leader to the squad at some point in the transfer window.

If Barcelona make the decision to sell the defender in the Summer window – he would be a brilliant addition to that side – especially now that Thiago Silva has left the club and headed back to Brazilian football.

But it will be interesting to see how this all plays out – and if Barcelona do decide to sell Araujo – we should make a move to try and get a deal done.
