Spain International announces he is likely to be a Chelsea player this summer
Marco Alonso has revealed he’s likely to remain at Chelsea this summer although he’d like to move to Spain.
Alonso has been a big part of the starting eleven over the past few months – and has done a relatively impressive job at left-back.
However – he could not agree a new contract with the club and that allowed Barcelona to swoop in – make contact – and try to convince him to leave London over the transfer window
And that seemingly worked if you believed all the reports – as The defender reportedly agreed a three-year deal with the Catalan giants, and was all set to complete a move back to Spain
However- it seems that is not actually the case and now Alonso has shocked many fans by announcing that he is very likely to stay at Stamford Bridge this summer – He said when asked about a summer move to the La Liga by Onda Cero : “Not at the moment. On paper I have one more year of contract and that is what it is until today.
“I have already said other times that I would like to but it does not depend entirely on me.
“There are two games left here and then it’s time to rest.”
Alonso has also admitted that he is happy about his Chelsea career achievements – but there is a burning desire to pack his bags and head back to Spanish football – he added: “I’ve played 50 games, we’ve been world champions, we’ve been unlucky in the cup finals.
“I can’t complain about anything at Chelsea but the desire to play in Spain is there.
“It’s not entirely up to me and I’m happy at Chelsea. I am sincere.”
