Fleming signs up, Benrahma on transfer rumours to Chelsea, Sane sends Alaba message in icchelseanews roundup..
Brentford Winger Said Benrahma admitted he was ‘flattered’ to see himself linked with a summer move to Chelsea.
Frank Lampard does not need to spend alot of money to improve his current side, but he needed to add another defender, midfielder and striker to the side in order to turn us from top four contenders to Premier League challengers.
He has already added a new midfielder an attacker to the squad, but there is a feeling that another winger and defender would be the ideal signings for the club, and the impressive Benrahma has been on the shopping list.
Benrahma is a tricky wideman who has even been dubbed the ‘Algerian Messi’, and would be the immediate replacement for Willian or Pedro, who are both expected to depart the club when their current deals run out in the coming weeks.
Benrahma is desperate to make history with Brentford amid the swirling transfer speculation, but has opened up and admitted that he has been flattered by all the transfer speculation linking him with a move here.
‘I don’t look at it as my destiny, but it has always been a target of mine to play in the Premier League and I really wish to play in the Premier League with Brentford,’ Benrahma said.
‘It would be magnificent for Brentford to be in the Premier League because it would be the first time and we have really been working hard on it.’
Chelsea FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian international Jessie Fleming on a three-year deal.
The tenacious box-to-box midfielder spent four years at UCLA Bruins and in that time made 75 appearances and notched 25 goals, and she has represented her national team at Under-17s and Under-20s level before becoming the second-youngest player to ever play for Canada when she made her senior debut at the age of 15
Now the 77-capped International has decided to make the move to the Bridge and upon signing for the Women, Fleming said: ‘I knew I really wanted to play in the WSL, I think the league is doing really well right now and there is a ton of fantastic players in the league so that really excited me.
‘For Chelsea it was the players here and I wanted to be in a challenging environment. Having conversations with Emma [Hayes] and learning a bit more about the team, I was just really excited about the environment and what it has to offer.’
Manager Emma Hayes added: ‘Jessie is one of the top young players in the world, so for us to be able to sign her is a testament to the work that has been done here for a number of years. She chose Chelsea, this was her priority, her first choice and we were over the moon to get her.’
Leroy Sane has urged Chelsea transfer target David Alaba to snub Premier League interest this summer and stay with him at Bayern Munich.
Frank Lampard knows that he needs to improve the side if he wants to get back inside the top four and then push on to challenge for a Premier League title and Champions League crown.
And one area of concern for the Blues is the defence, as it is not good enough to challenge the big boys in Europe, so Lampard is reportedly keen to sort that issues out with the possible signing of Alaba, who is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the game right now.
Alaba has 12 months left on his current deal with the German giants, but there has been a few issues with his contract talks and speculation has risen over the past few months that he is seeking a way out of the club after ten years of service with Bayern.
But despite the rumours we reportedly ready to swoop in and offer him a big money move to the Premier League over the next few months, Sane has opened up and urged the left-back to stay in the Bundesliga this summer.
Sane told BILD: “I really hope David stays! I would like to play with him.
“He is a good guy, a great footballer, and we like each other privately.
“David has proven that he is not only one of the world’s best left-backs, but also exceptional in the centre.”
