Jorginho’s representative Jorge Santos has said “nothing can be ruled out” regarding the future of the Chelsea star
Jorginho has been at the club for a good few seasons now, but there has always been constant reports that he is keen to make the return back to Italian football, where the likes of Napoli and Juventus are ready to offer him a route back to Seria A.
Reports claim that Napoli supremo Aurelio De Laurentiis is unhappy with the team’s performances and has already approached Maurizio Sarri about the possibility of replacing under-fire head coach Gennaro Gattuso.
Indeed, Gattuso himself appears to be aware that his position is under threat, telling the press when asked if the upcoming Serie A clash with Juventus could be his last in the Azzurri dugout: “I don’t know, you have to ask the club.”
“The captain of the ship is me, when things go badly, they are at the expense of the captain. I can’t think of this as the penultimate or last resort, I have to work and I have to be able to trust. I’m a coach, it’s like that. I won’t be the first, nor the last, but I have the duty to try until the end.”
And that has led to strong reports in the media which have claimed that Sarri would look to raid the club and try to acquire the services of Jorginho, a move that his agent has failed to rule out
“Football is dynamic and nothing can be ruled out,” Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli. “If Sarri returns to Napoli, he would make an attempt to bring Jorginho back. He is perfect for his football. I can’t rule it out.
“He has two years left on his contract and is a regular starter for Italy. However, with a good project, he would be open to coming back.”
