Agent tells Chelsea board five-year deal ‘is close to completion’

Chelsea pursuit of Red Bull Salzburg hotshot Karim Adeyemi is as good as over, it has been revealed in the media this week

The 20-year-old has scored 23 goals in all competitions this season, including three in the Champions League group stage, and is attracting all sorts of interest in his services.

It is no secret that Thomas Tuchel is very interested in signing another striker in the summer and has is reportedly keen on a deal for Adeyemi, despite the fact a new owner has not yet been officially unveiled

It has been suggested in the media over the past few days that we even made an effort to try and get a deal done for the exciting young man – but Adeyemi’s agent has confirmed that United’s offer came too late as the forward has already agreed to join Dortmund.

‘We’re now close to complete the deal with Borussia Dortmund,’ said Thomas Solomon

‘There will be no release clause included into his five year deal”.

‘Rangnick? Yes, Manchester United wanted to enter the race – but we wanted Dortmund.’”

Adeyemi’s move to Dortmund is set to be completed in the coming weeks and Salzburg value the forward at around £32m. He is expected to replace Erling Haaland, who is closing in on an agreement with Manchester City
