Cech reveals top transfer target, Rice to be at Chelsea by 2021 and Abramovic makes Dybala decision in icchelseanews roundup…

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has declined the chance to sign Paulo Dybala in the January transfer window, according to reports.

Frank Lampard lost Willian and Pedro from his attack this season, and although they signed Kai Havertz, and also signed both Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech,  there are reports that he is still keen to improve this attack.

And one player that is always listed as a possible signing for the club is that of Dybala, who is rated very highly across Europe and was linked with a move to the Premier League last summer, but that did not happen,.

But Reports in Italy claim Juventus are willing to part ways with the forward in the coming windows as new boss Andrea Pirlo attempts to rebuild the squad, and Dybala could be interested in a move to the Premier League.

Pirlo is looking to raise some funds in order to improve this squad and knows that he may be able to get a decent amount of money for Dybala, who is rated around the £60 million mark.

But Calciomercato we won’t be signing Dybala because Abramovich thinks that, having spent a fortune on Ziyech and Havertz, he isn’t needed at the club.

It’s claimed the club want to ‘protect the investments’ of the pair, And Abramovich reportedly has ’no intention of obscuring’ the duo, instead hoping they’ll fire us to silverware over the course of the season.

Petr Cech has revealed Edouard Mendy was top of Chelsea’s goalkeeper targets during the summer transfer window.

After losing faith with Spanish stopper Kepa, Frank Lampard was desperate to make moves and try to sign a stopper that he could trust and that could be the clubs number one for the next few seasons.

There was alot of speculation that some of the games biggest clubs were heavily linked with a move to the Bridge, but that never happened, and in the end we managed to secure a £27 million transfer deal for Mendy.

Mendy has arrived and made an instant impact at the club, keeping five clean sheets  and earning high praise for his performances between those sticks, and Cech has now revealed that the stopper was the top transfer target for the club

He told the The Times: “I was asked together with the goalkeeping department and the scouting department to prepare documents for the manager and give my advice on who would be my choice.

“Edouard was not the only one on the list, but we had him on top because of his qualities and the knowledge we had about him. The manager and the club decided to go with our advice, so that’s how he ended up here.”

Paul Robinson believes West Ham will eventually cave in to the “spending power” of Chelsea and allow Declan Rice to move.

During the whole of the transfer window, there was constant reports in the media which suggested that Frank Lampard was desperate to bring the full England International to the club after another impressive season with the Hammers.

However, despite all the rumours and speculation, the Hammers were able to fend of the interest of the club and keep Rice, with reports suggested that they are now preparing to offer the midfielder a bumper new contract to stay at the club.

However, former Tottenham goalkeeper Robinson believes Chelsea will eventually get their man in 2021, be it in January or at the end of the season: “This transfer just keeps rumbling on,” he told Football Insider

“It was supposed to happen in the summer.

“Frank is obviously a big fan of Declan Rice and he clearly sees him as part of the jigsaw puzzle at Chelsea.

“Unfortunately for smaller clubs, when the likes of Chelsea come with their spending power the transfer does tend to happen.

“Whether that be in January or the summer, I think we will see Declan Rice in a Chelsea shirt before the end of 2021.”

Rice is a player that is starting to outgrow his current club and will eventually make that move to a big Premier League outfit, so yes it would be a massive shock to not see him make that move to the Bridge in the coming seasons.

He is a classy player that can become one of the best in the game, so if we can get him for the right amount of money, then he will be welcome to a side that has the ability and quality to dominate for the next ten years.
