Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic has reported contacted Max Allegri about a possible move to Stamford Bridge

Despite some good performances from the side, Frank Lampard has seen his job come under intense pressure over the past few months, as he simply cannot get the results that Abramovic would like, and Allegri is a manager that he is reportedly keen on.

Allegri left Juventus just a few seasons ago after leading the club to his fifth straight Seria A title, and has reportedly set his sights on making the move to the Premier League, with some reports even claiming that he is already learning English.

Now the SUN have claimed that Abramovic has started planning for life after Lampard and has already made contact with Allegri about a move to the Bridge, although the report also suggest that he will give Lampard some time before ousting the club legend.

The news comes just a few hours after Arsenal legend Paul Merson urged the club  to give Frank Lampard ‘a chance’ to prove himself.

Writing for Sky Sports, he said: “Lampard did a great job last year, and it’s the first time he has worked with world-class players.

“Give him a chance.”

If the reports are true and Abramovic has contacted Allegri about a move t the Bridge, it would be a very sad day for the club to see Lampard leave. But we are used to seeing managers come and go.

We are all for managers given time to shine, But we want success and if the great man cannot bring it, then a proven winner like Allegri would be the best option
