Abraham handed advice, Vidal perfect signing, Kante partner named and Rodgers addresses Chilwell rumours in icchelseanews roundup..

Arturo Vidal could be a “perfect fit” at Chelsea as a direct replacement for Jorginho, according to Fox Sports journalist Christian Martin

Despite being an invaluable member of the side before the coronavirus stopped football from being played, There has been big transfer speculation in the media that Jorginho could leave the club when the transfer window opens up.

We are well-stocked in midfield so it is unlikely Lampard would break the bank for a new signing in that department – but Martin has claimed that Vidal may be the perfect replacement for Jorginho if he departs the club in the transfer window.

“I’d love to see Arturo Vidal at Chelsea. I don’t have that information [but] he’s good, I like him”, Martin told Red Gol.

At Chelsea, Arturo it would be a perfect fit, hopefully it will happen, his football would fit in well, we’ll talk to [Vidal’s agent] Fernando Felicevich later, it would be good.”

“Arturo seems to me a sensational player. I’m not saying it because he is Chilean, I think he would fit in very well anywhere.

“Arturo knows more about Italy, I don’t know if his past in Juventus stops him from going to Inter, but according to what I talked to him, he would always be attracted to coming to the Premier League.”

Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink has told Tammy Abraham that he needs to learn from experienced team-mate Olivier Giroud.

Before the coronavirus outbreak stopped football, there was no doubt that Tammy Abraham was the clubs number one striker and is still the club stop-goalscorer this season, but Since the re-start of Football, Frank Lampard has opted to put Olivier Giroud up top.

And Hasselbaink says Abraham must learn from Giroud, who he has described as a “breath of fresh air”, and thinks Giroud brings more to Lampard’s starting XI than Abraham at the moment.

“They are two different players,” the Chelsea legend told Premier League Productions. “What Abraham has to learn, look at him (Giroud)… he brings other players in, he makes other players look better.

“For me, he (Giroud) needs to score more goals. At times he can be more selfish but what he does and brings to the team is an outlet and that outlet the majority of the time is very secure.

“With Abraham at times – especially in the last few matches – it’s been erratic. At the beginning of the season, he was brilliant and it’s normal because it’s his first year at Chelsea at a high level.

“There will always be a difficult time for him and that’s what’s happening now. Giroud has been brilliant, a breath of fresh air.”

Asked what the main difference between Giroud and Abraham is, Hasselbaink responded: “One thing Giroud is really good at is his movement.

“If you see [his goal] he is with the defender but then all of a sudden he’s gone. It’s a feeling and he has that feeling of where the ball is going to go.

“At the moment it’s not really working for Tammy Abraham and Giroud is picking up the pieces. He’s been so important for Chelsea.”

Brendan Rodgers says Leicester have “no intention” of selling Chelsea target Ben Chilwell during the summer transfer window.

Frank Lampard has already secured a transfer deal for Hakim Ziyech, while Timo Werner was the latest big named player to make that move to Stamford Bridge after the Blues activated his £50 million release clause.

And Chilwell, who has become one of the very best left-backs in the Premier League over the past few seasons, has become a very high transfer target for us as we seek to solve their defensive issues at the back.

But if the club believed that a move for the Englishman was going to be easy, they will have to think again as Rodgers batted away the suggestion he could have played his last game for the club.

“I’m not sure,” he told Sky Sports. “He’s a Leicester City player, and I’m relaxed about it. I’m not worried at all.

“We’ve got a fantastic squad and one that we want to keep together. There’s no intention to sell Ben Chilwell and absolutely no need to sell. The message is: He’s not for sale.”

Fox Sports journalist Christian Martin suggests Chelsea should seriously consider Arturo Vidal as a partner for N’Golo Kante at the base of their midfield.

“In the Premier League he would fit greatly,” Martin told Red Gol.

“Arturo has quality, he has a break, he has strength, he has an attitude, playing him next to [N’Golo] Kanté would be tremendous.

“The truth is that Jorginho hasn’t succeeded as we expected, hopefully it can happen with Arturo. It’d be a nice challenge, because he’s not afraid to change either.”

We have said it before and we will say it again, back in the day Vidal would have been a great signing for the club and made the midfield world class, but he is coming to the back end of his career.

We dont need to add players that have one or two years left in the game, we need players for the long run right?
