Mbappe claim made, Chelsea have Varane opportunity, Haaland wants trophies and Soyuncu claim made in icchelseanews roundup…
Chelsea target Erling Haaland wants to win trophies with Borussia Dortmund and is not thinking about a move abroad.
Dortmund won the race to sign Haaland from Salzburg last January and he has made a stellar start to his career at Signal Iduna Park, scoring 27 goals in 29 games in all competitions for the club.
However, there has been alot of speculation in the media that we are one of a number of clubs that believe Haaland would be the dream signing to make, despite the fact that they already have Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham.
However, amid all the speculation, Haaland senior has opened up and admitted that his son does want to win trophies, but has not intention of leaving Dortmund just yet: “When you play well, it’s only logical that big clubs knock on your door, but we’re talking about speculation here,” he told SPORT1
“At the moment it’s not in Erling’s or my head that another club will be vying for him. We signed a long contract with Dortmund and they have a fantastic team for Erling right now. We don’t want to look any further ahead.”
Asked if the close season could bring about a move, he added: “You never know what will happen. We haven’t talked about such a step yet. I think he would like to win some trophies with Dortmund. That is his goal.
“Erling can still achieve a lot in Germany and make great progress. Moving abroad is not a priority for us.
“I sometimes think he wants to and can assert himself in any league. At the moment, he is happy in the Bundesliga and focused on Dortmund. He just wants to be a better player and doesn’t look too far ahead.”
Chelsea are on red alert after Monaco’s former president claims Kylian Mbappe is seriously considering leaving PSG.
Mbappe is easily regarde3d as one of the finest talents in the game right now and is tipped to be the player that takes over from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best player in world football.
The young Frenchman has already helped France win the World Cup, is one of the most expensive players in history and has won multiple trophies with PSG, but to be considered a superstar, there is a feeling that he needs to make the move to La Liga or the Premier League.
We have been linked with a move for the Frenchman ever since he burst on to the footballing scene and we have been handed a massive transfer boost after Vasilyev claimed that he is considering leaving the French outfit
Vadim Vasilyev told Telefoot: “He is going to have to make very important decisions, and right now he seems more headed towards a way out.
“Nothing is impossible. Kylian is young and what he wants to win are titles. He is ambitious. He wants to win everything and break all the records.
“If tomorrow PSG propose an ambitious project, where he feels comfortable and with options to go further and guarantees that he can win everything in his career, he could renew.”
Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu would be “very good at Chelsea”, claims Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Frank Lampard made some serious changes to the squad over the transfer window and was backed by Owner Roman Abamovic with a big amount that allowed him to improve the side both defensively and in the attacking sense.
Hasselbaink has been encouraged by the progress made at an ambitious Premier League outfit, but believes we could get even stronger by investing in the right areas during upcoming markets, and believes Soyuncu would be a good signing.
Soyuncu has become one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League over the last few seasons and his performances has led to alot of rumours that Liverpool and Barcelona are ready to make a move in the coming transfer windows.
The former Blues striker told Ladbrokes on the need to find further reinforcements at the back, with there options to explore at Napoli, Leicester and Inter: “A lot of people are talking about Kalidou Koulibaly but he’s 29 years old and would be very expensive.
“I actually quite like the Leicester defender, Caglar Soyuncu. I think he’d be very good at Chelsea.
“Also the defender at Inter, Milan Skriniar – everybody is talking about him, another very good player.
“So there are players out there, but it’s such a difficult position to fill at the moment.”
Chelsea have the opportunity to sign Raphael Varane for well below £100million, according to stunning reports.
It is no secret that Frank Lampard have brought in players over the last transfer window that have added both quality and ability to the squad, and this defence is looking alot more solid now that Thiago Silva is in the squad.
However, the Brazilian is not going to be able to pay every game of the week, he is not going to be at the club in the long-run and although Both Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma have improved, Silva cannot keep helping the club keep clean-sheets.
That means that we will need to delve into that transfer kitty once again in the coming windows and try to add a new defender to the back-line, a defender that has already proven himself at the highest level of the game like Silva, and a player that is considered world class.
And Varane has been one player that the club have been trying to sign for the last few seasons, bit his high valuation has meant that a deal has been able to get done as Madrid have been seeking well over £100 million for the World Cup winner.
However, the Manchester Evening News claim Los Blancos would be open to selling the Frenchman in the coming transfer windows, and the Spaniards may even be open to the idea of letting him leave for less than £100 million.
Zinedine Zidane needs to freshen up the squad with some big time signings, but the COVID-19 outbreak is restricting the business of Madrid and they may need to sell in order to raise funds.
If reports are true, we would love the guy here!
