Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed –

Rio Ferdinand has backed CHELSEA to re-sign Dominic Solanke six-and-a-half years after he first left the club.

The club spent some serious money on improving that attack in the last transfer window and brought in Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku in hope they could bang in the goals on a weekly basis.

However – Jackson has really struggled to score the amount of goals that fans would have liked to see, while Nkunku has spent much of his time on the sidelines with injury.

That has led to all sorts of speculation in the media that we will once again delve into that transfer kitty and try to sign a striker for the club over the next few weeks, and they have been linked with some big names.

But Ferdinand has opened up and encouraged the club to make a move for former player Dominic Solanke, who is having the best season of his career so far.

Solanke started his professional career at Stamford Bridge after spending a decade in the academy at Stamford Bridge. He was a prolific goalscorer at youth level but was rarely given the chance for the first team.

After an unsuccessful spell at Liverpool, he has found a home at Bournemouth and is finally proving he can score goals in the Premier League. He is enjoying his best campaign in front of goal in the top flight, with 12 strikes in 18 appearances.

The Manchester United legend said on BT Sport: “A centre-forward would be great. Solanke was a child superstar here, broke all the records in the academy at CHELSEA.

“He knows his way around this place, it would be like a homecoming for him. He’s one name that jumps off the page at the moment.”

OSIMHEN DROPS HINT –

CHELSEA fans have been sent into meltdown after Napoli star Victor Osmihen hinted at a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Despite having spent a fortune on new players over the course of the last few transfer windows, the club find themselves sitting 10th in the Premier League, 12 points behind fourth placed Manchester City who have a game in hand on Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Nicolas Jackson seems to have the trust of his manager Mauricio Pochettino, but it does not look like that will stop the club from entering the market for a new No.9.

He has been impressive at time during his stint at Stamford Bridge, but he does not look like a forward that has the ability to push on and score 20-30 or even 40 goals a season for the Blues.

And that has led to constant speculation in the media over the past few months that we are keen on signing the pacy forward, who recently signed a new deal through till the summer 2026, and would likely cost around £100m.

Now he has reportedly given the Blues fans a massive boost as the Nigerian forward, who fired Napoli to the Serie A title last term, scoring 26 goals in 32 games, celebrated his 25th birthday, with fans of Osimhen sending positive messages on social media.

One fan wrote: “Happy birthday Victor Osimhen, pls come and rescue CHELSEA soon” attaching a photo of Osimhen as a child wearing a Chelsea shirt from the 2011/2012 season.

And fans will have been thrilled to see the 25-year-old reply to the tweet with two heart emojis, and a praying hands emoji too, hinting he would be open to a move away from Naples in favour of the Premier League.

Could Chelsea sign Osimhen in January?

He possesses the kind of firepower that could take us back into the top four and possibly challenge for trophies in the next couple of seasons, he is a player that is really an elite forward.

CHELSEA IN MAATSEN TALKS

It has been claimed in the media that CHELSEA are Borussia Dortmund are in talks over a January deal for Dutchman Ian Maatsen.

After an impressive pre-season with the club, Mauricio Pochettino gave the young man some much needed game time in the early stages of the season, and gave him an opportunity to prove himself.

However – over the past few months the Dutchman has found it really hard to get the minutes that he had been hoping for and has spent much of his time watching from the sidelines.

That has led to all sorts of speculation in the media that he may look to leave the club in the January window, either on loan or on a permanent basis, as he seeks to take his career to that next level.

And that move could be to Borussia Dortmund, if a report form Dutch media is to be believed, which claims that the Bundesliga outfit are already in talks with the board over a January deal.

We are said to be looking for a transfer with Maatsen said to be open to the move, though the “conditions” are still just being defined

Maatsen enjoyed a successful loan at Burnley last season as they were promoted back to the Premier League, notching four goals and six assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

If the reports are true and Maatsen is seeking a move away from the club in the January window, it will be a very wise decision from the lad to make as he needs the minutes to improve and develop.
